C6: Evidence-informed information work

IMA is at the forefront in promoting evidence-based approaches to information work. Recent work has included creating the Research Information Strategy for the Northern Ireland Department of Health (referred to earlier) as well as:

investigating access to research and scholarly material in Northern Ireland for the Library and Information Services Council (Northern Ireland), the British Library and the Department of Education Northern Ireland¹

compilation of Metamorphosis: transferring research into Library and Information, Museums and Archives Practice for the Library and Information Commission². This draws together current work on evidence-based health care (where this movement started), social work and education, as well as the latest thinking on diffusion of innovations.
