C6: Evidence-informed information work

IMA is at the forefront in promoting evidence-based approaches to information work. Recent work has included creating the Research Information Strategy for the Northern Ireland Department of Health (referred to earlier) as well as:

investigating access to research and scholarly material in Northern Ireland for the Library and Information Services Council (Northern Ireland), the British Library and the Department of Education Northern Ireland1

compilation of Metamorphosis: transferring research into Library and Information, Museums and Archives Practice for the Library and Information Commission2. This draws together current work on evidence-based health care (where this movement started), social work and education, as well as the latest thinking on diffusion of innovations.
